I find it helpful to lead candidates through a series of questions to discover the technologies they don’t have as much knowledge about. Then I try to ask a difficult, technical question they likely don’t have the experience to answer. I do not necessarily care about their inexperience; I want to see if they will admit to it and are able to tell me how they would go about finding the answer.
